Mounting 14.5 and 16" Through Cored Mirrors

Stud mounts for 14.5 and 16" mirrors available on special order

The figure below show the essence of how the mirror is mounted. It is simply hung on a projecting stud or shaft emerging from the base point where the mirror is to be mounted. The stud need only be a rigid projection capable of mounting some sort of retaining disk or keeper that can be screwed against the face of the mirror. The central perforation must be large enough so that is fits easily over the stud without causing significant outward pressure.  Something that must be understood when designing this type of mount is that the shimming or contact material (usually O rings of some kind) within the perforation should be so placed as to be approximately at the center of gravity. If this is done properly only a very slight outward pressure will be needed.
