Dall-Kirkham
Simple and direct
- The real thing
Performance
like a refractor - only you get real aperture
It's like the 10" model only smaller. At f/22.5 (180" focal length) it's a born lunar, planetary and double star telescope. Some people use it for planetary nebulas. With 180" focal length it gets to working power easily with out intervening optics. So called corrected Dall-Kirkhams have downstream lenses that add to accumulated scatter and system error, these only have two mirrors. They are not for every type of observing and they are not for every observer, but for those who are interested in high-power work this may be just the telescope you are looking for.
Telescope can come with attractive powder coated surface as seen above or in carbon fiber. Note exhaust fan at top rear.
Curved vane spider - no spikes.

This one was fitted with a Moonlight motofocuser. Moonlight focusers are standard.
Breather cap keeps dust out while telescope fan is running.
